The Challenge

Finding sites suitable for lifestyle village projects can sometimes be a challenge. Land holdings in an appropriate zone, relatively free of constraints and which are large enough yet able to be connect to urban services cost-effectively are not easy to secure. Sometimes a greater challenge can be to ensure that the proposed project will meet the market.

The Solution

Two new recently-approved Lifestyle village projects have benefited from InsiteSJC’s specialist consulting advice. With extensive experience in the lifestyle village industry, Geoff Campbell’s input through the design and planning process optimised outcomes for the 487 home RV Lifestyle Oceanside development at Burnett Heads and Spring Lakes Resorts 163 home development and 90 bed aged care facility overlooking the Burnett River at Avoca.

Both projects take advantage of the Bundaberg region’s lifestyle attributes but cater to different markets within the sector. RV Oceanside, with homes featuring high clearance garages, will attract residents whose lifestyle includes frequent caravan or RV travelling. By comparison, Spring Lakes will provide contemporary resort-style living near city facilities. Geoff was able to assist with concepts and optimising layouts for the resorts, aided by quality survey data obtained by the InsiteSJC survey team. Both projects benefit from his ability to effectively articulate project objectives to the Council through the planning process, resulting in securing quality development approvals that provide certainty for developing the projects.
