Long experience in local government gives Kerry insight into the development industry from the other side of the counter.  Working across the spectrum with multi-million dollar coal seam gas and mining proponents, holiday unit or shopping centre developers, farmers setting up feedlots or mum and dad subdividers, understanding the essence of client perspective has been paramount.  This perspective is complemented by the development of planning schemes and policies most recently in North Burnett and Banana under SPA and Cooloola Shire under IPA.
A wide regional experience of Queensland in North, Central and south east Queensland also adds to her ability to ensure a ‘fit for place’ planning solution.  In social, open space and environmental planning projects community inclusion and meaningful stakeholder involvement have been key elements in her strategy.  She has also worked alongside community groups involved in heritage, environment, sport and recreation and disability issues to collaboratively provide guidance to local governments on these matters.
Kerry’s role at Insite SJC provides the perfect opportunity to use her knowledge of the planning system, policy development and project management skills to assist clients achieve good outcomes.
Kerry is accredited as a Certified Practising Planner. In July 2018 she was honoured by her peers for services to the planning profession and was elevated to Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia.
