The new Adopted Infrastructure Charges Resolution 2015 (AICR 2015) aligns
Council’s charging regime with the new use definitions in the new Planning Scheme. In addition, Council has also
made some changes to the amounts charges for particular developments. In some circumstances, the applied charge has
reduced, while in other circumstances the charge has increased. The main reduction in charges applies to developments
approximately 15km from the Bundaberg CBD, rural residential lots and hinterland
areas. However, most of the charges on
commercial, industrial and other employment generating activities have increased. Below is a summary of charges for the creation
of a new lot—
- Fully serviced $25,200
- Bundaberg
Partially Serviced (no wastewater) $22,680
- Bundaberg
Partially Serviced (no wastewater and no water supply) $20,160
- Hinterland
Partially Serviced (no wastewater) $15,000
- Hinterland Partially
Serviced (no wastewater and no water supply) $10,000
The resolution also introduces a charge for building work applications. This is presently isolated to duplex developments where these charges would have been previously picked up through a Material Change of Use application. Council will have up to 20 business days to issue an Adopted Infrastructure Charges Notice once the building work approval for the duplex has been issued.
