The InsiteSJC planning team is pleased to acknowledge the efforts of North Burnett Regional Council in progressing amendments to the planning scheme. Minor and administrative amendments commenced on Monday 3 February 2020. InsiteSJC had the pleasure of assisting the Council to make a series of amendments to ‘appropriately integrate’ SPP 2017, reflect the regulated requirements and make various other improvements and corrections.

InsiteSJC Principal Town Planner Nathan Freeman is taking up a new position with Greensill Farming Group as Planning, Assets and Projects Manager.

The Bundaberg Regional Council today made further commitments to supporting the development industry to stimulate development and provide employment and economic growth for our region.

A successful region needs a high-performing local government. The development industry, in particular, depends very heavily on the culture, strategies, policies, and practices of local government. It is simply not possible for the private sector to deliver new housing, industrial or commercial projects without a facilitative Council.

Here are seven, hopefully constructive, suggestions for our new council.

After months of asking for explanations from Council, it was clear that there was strong pressure to make a decision. The problem was that the planning department had not fully investigated or reported fairly on the application. Despite repeated attempts officers were still unable to explain their recommendations. We do not like publicly brawling with the Council or its officers but we have had little choice but to explain our actions. The following is the text from our letter of withdrawal.

Bundaberg Regional Council has provided its formal responses to the 314 submissions it received during the public notification of the proposed new planning scheme late in 2014. Council letters arrived in the mail today. Each submission, including the more than 30 that InsiteSJC made on behalf of clients, has been considered and responded to in detail.

Some clients are currently asking whether it would be in their interests to try and have their master plans submitted and approved prior to 30 June 2015. They are concerned that there could be serious negative implications for recent proposed changes to the way that the NBN would be rolled out for new developments.

We have recently completed the surveying for Stage 7 of Coral Gardens Estate. Stage 7 sees the completion of this residential estate and the release of the final 23 lots. The completed Estate consists of 131 lots.
